A Warrior and a Battle Part One

Standing on the sand of the dawn of her life. The wind blows with two attitudes, one is soft and gentle and the other is brisk and heavy. Her hair has grown out to her shoulders at least. The great feeling of natures soul flows through every strand filling her with pride in who she is. The water rushes up to take the land from under her feet. She adores the array of colors the universe can produce during a sunrise. In that moment she didn't know that the water stealing the land would be her first battle, it goes completely unnoticed though.

Off in the distance she could hear the voice of man, the chatter of their gossips were like flies buzzing around. She turned to see a sword, shield and a helmet. She didn't understand why she would be interested in these things. It was that moment a being appears to her. The voice said "take these things I have provided you as you will need them soon." She gathers up the gear and heads to her sanctuary.

She relaxes peacefully in those innocent moments. A voice calling to her grabs her attention. She is suddenly shoved to the ground where she lay in confusion. Thoughts running through her head like a train carrying cargo cross country at night. She looks up to see a human force walking toward her at least 100 strong. She assumed they had come to take her innocence. She grabs up her sword of words and her shield of lies and begins a battle that she would fight for a lifetime. Somehow her abilities with the sword are unmatched, the first 100 lay dead at her feet. With her sword in the air she let out a war cry that could be heard in the most distant of places.

She begins to walk into the wilderness seeking something she hasn't figured out yet. She walks the journey meeting nothing but the sound of wild animals in the distance. The woods are dark at night and her fear is that she may never find a way to you. She comes to a crossing where a stream flows quietly through. She sees the reflection of the moon in the water and kneels down to see her own face. She sees a face she cant recognize, it is covered with dirt and disfigured beyond her belief. She tries to wash the dirt from her face but it is no use. She looks around and all she can see is trees. She is frail with only skin wrapped around bones. Her hair is matted and out of control. Her attire is that of sheets and what ever material she could get her hands on.

After traveling so far she sees smoke in the distance, it is dusk the sun is setting on her shoulders. She heard no noise but saw a beautiful house on a hill. She decided to climb a tree just to watch the house to see who lived there. She fell asleep in the tree and awoke to the morning birds singing their song. After a moment she realized the house and smoke was not a dream it was reality. The place was more magnificent than she had seen last evening. She saw a boy near her age running a muck in the yard. She felt humiliated that she looked so horrible and he looked well taken care of. Still carrying a small amount of his baby fat. When the sun made it to the top of the sky she decided she was going to take the chance and go to the house. She was starved and that was motivation enough. As she approached the house she drew her sword and raised her shield. She was good at sneaking so she crept up behind the boy walking into his shadow. He turned slowly as if to see someone else. (To be continued)
